“Our Private Retreat” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We have been guests of Shawn and Jeanette for a number of years, 5 visits so far …but many more expected! The Penthouse is not what it is advertised to be…IT IS SIMPLY MORE SPECTACULAR! The place has ALWAYS been immaculate and we feel as if we have “arrived back home” to the MOST relaxing spot in all of Kiawah. The furnishings are incredible and “little touches” of things new happen all the time. The view from the master bedroom is permanently fixed as my screen saver, and brings back so many great memories. We selfishly use the entire unit for ourselves…it is our private retreat. The only thing I would change is the number of times we visit in a year! Words are not powerful enough to describe the benefit you get…you just have to try it out yourself.

“Beach Cottage – Perfect for our Honeymoon” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The villa kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. The utensils, pots and pans, dishes, etc. were top quality. Everything was neat and tidy and easy to find. In fact, the whole villa was stocked with all we needed. The Beach Cottage couldn’t have been any more perfect for our honeymoon. The villa was beautiful and clean. When we first walked through the door we were greeted with a lovely, cozy scent that made it feel so personal. It wasn’t just another condo. It felt like it was perfectly set up for us – soaps, toilet tissue, laundry detergent packs, shampoo, towels and wash cloths. That was very convenient. Shawn and Jeanette had instructions throughout out the villa that answered any questions we had. The bed was certainly luxurious. It was like sleeping on clouds! The pillows were comfy too and the bedding was superb. We were very impressed. My wife had received emails from Jeanette with suggestions and recommendations for sights to see and restaurants to visit. There is a large information binder as well with lots of information on Kiawah and Charleston. We visited some of the restaurants mentioned. Our favorite meal though was at the Lowcountry Bistro in Charleston. The whole trip was like a dream. It was more than we could have imagined. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. It was huge and wide even at high tide. The beach was literally a two minute walk away. The whole island is gorgeous and fun to ride bikes around to see up close. You will not regret visting Kiawah and you’ll love The Beach Cottage.

“A Level Above All Others! ” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
By far a level above all others! Meticulously cared for rentals that are tastefully furnished (each with its own unique flair). Fully stocked kitchens, comfy beds and fluffy towels. Everything has been thought out with fresh flowers and soothing music to greet you as a beautiful way to begin your stay. Shawn and Jeanette are so wonderful! Looking forward to many more stays in the future.

“What a lovely villa! The location was fantastic, complete with stunning ocean views. Access to the beach was simply a stroll down the boardwalk. The decor was lovely, that rivals many 5-star hotels. What truly sets this villa apart were all the personal touches from fresh cut flowers to ziplock bags… everything was included which was so nice! We can’t wait for our next visit!”

“Perfect!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We rented the Shell Seeker for a Thanksgiving getaway and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Five of us felt at home at the Shell Seeker as the home was flawless. From the moment we walked into the home, we knew the preparation that Shawn and Jeanette had put into it. They did an amazing job! As first timers to Kiawah Island, we were very impressed, and definitely recommend lunch/drinks at the Ocean Course Club House for anyone staying here. Thanks again Kiawah Island Getaways!

“Same Time Next Year” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This is the best rental that we have ever stayed in! From the minute we walked in the door, I wanted to stay for a month not just four nights! The amazing views of the ocean, the balcony off the bedroom, the large glass wall in the living room. No matter where we were in the condo, we had beautiful views of the ocean! Even cooking in the kitchen, making our nightly cocktails, I could see the beautiful ocean! The furnishings, the art, the amazing library of books, the cookware and dishes, even the beautiful Waterford crystal wine glasses give this condo a five star rating! Lastly, the owners of Kiawah Island Getaways took care of all of our needs. Nothing was overlooked! We loved getting to know them and look forward to coming to this condo many times in the future months!

“Beautiful Property” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
A beautiful property that I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to simply relax. I don’t think you could beat this place. Don’t book during hurricane season though as our stay was limited to 3 days out of the 7 booked due to Hurricane Matthew. Who knew the first hurricane in over 10 years would hit the week we booked?!?

Location was incredible, the property was beautifully maintained and the beds were amazingly comfortable!

The owners were extremely responsive to each and every inquiry and kept us fully informed throughout the process. Again, I highly recommend this property!

“LOVED the Coastal Calm” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Our stay at the Coastal Calm was about as perfect as it gets! The villa is lovely and has all the amenities you could ask for. It’s beautiful and extremely comfortable and relaxing. We loved that it was on Cougar Golf Course and could watch the golfers come through on the picture perfect days we had throughout our entire stay. At dusk each evening, we watched four deer find their way down the course as well. Right out the back of the villa, we hopped onto the bike path each day and had a nice relaxing ride all over the island as well as on the beach itself. As for the beach, it’s just a 5 minute walk on the path. Shawn and Jeanette could not make it any nicer, nor easier, than they already do to accommodate any need you might have. We have stayed through Kiawah Island Getaways, I believe, seven or eight times now and would not book with anyone else. Of the three villas we’ve rented, the Coastal Calm was, by far, our favorite — and made for the best trip we’ve had to Kiawah so far. We are looking forward to our next visit – and will definitely rent the Coastal Calm again.

“We’ll Be Return Customers!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a wonderful time at the apartment! It was clean and organized. Everything you could need for a perfect vacation was included – beach towels, games, books, chairs, etc! They even included a book full of suggestions for dining out, activities, and day trips. The location was such a short walk to the beach and we were able to ride our bikes everywhere! It is very close to fresh fields and about 30 mins from Charleston! The beds were so comfy and check in/check out was a breeze. We loved everything about this apartment, especially the porch area, and will definitely be coming again!

“Comfortable, beautiful, well-equipped place on Kiawah Island with ocean views! Heavenly!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
A dear friend and I hadn’t seen each other in years and wanted a week to relax and catch up. This Kiawah Island property was perfect! The beach is just yards away. If you open the balcony doors, the sound of the waves will lure you down to the shore. The beach is wide, perfect for sunning, surf play, shell collecting, biking, walking, and jogging. The somewhat rustic exterior of the building blends in nicely with the natural environment but doesn’t do justice to the quality, beauty and comfort of the apartment. The online photos reflect the interior decor accurately and it is a clean, light-filled, tastefully decorated two bedroom, two bath apartment. It is quiet at night with great beds and bedding. There are TVs throughout and it has up-to-date entertainment options for DVDs, iPods, and fast dependable WiFi for music, movies, and online life. Shawn and Jeanette of Kiawah Island Getaways were very easy to do business with and they have thought of practically everything. There’s a stock of board games if you encounter a rainy day. There are flashlights for nighttime beach walks. The kitchen is spotless and well stocked and the Harris Teeter grocery at Freshfields Village, less than 3 miles away has everything, including a gourmet selection of cheeses, wines, and local produce. There are several local fresh seafood and produce markets or stands within a 10-mile radius. For a lazy morning, there’s coffee and great grits, pancakes, waffles right across the parking lot at the Southern Kitchen. The golf courses, restaurants and luxurious Sanctuary (a must for a sunset drink and safe alligator watching!) at Kiawah Island are readily accessible from the apartment. Arrangements can be made through the hosts for bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, even a private chef! It’s an easy drive to Charleston and Beaufort for remarkable history tours, architectural delights and great restaurants, such as the elegant Hall’s Chophouse in Charleston, Wren in Beaufort, or the casual but delicious fare at Roadside Seafood on Folly Road. And there’s the mysterious Angel Oak, which certainly gets added to the list of everyone’s most memorable trees of a lifetime. I would definitely recommend this property to others. Everyone was super friendly. I look forward to a future visit. This property was a wonderful backdrop for us friends to reminisce about the past and build new memories of drives down Sea Island roadways shaded by timeless oaks dripping with Spanish moss.

“Home away from home!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
A perfect get away with all the comforts of home! We wanted to revisit the Charleston area because we have always loved it so much but wanted to add the beach element into our vacation this year. Once we arrived on Kiawah Island and walked in the Shade at Seascape we didn’t leave. It’s super convenient to restaurants, shopping and groceries @ Freshfields which we visited on a daily basis during our stay. The Shade is beautiful with it’s décor and high end finishes. We will definitely be back!

“Expectations Exceeded!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This was our first time at The Shade- we had stayed at The Vista twice, but decided to try something different. This villa was awesome! We so loved the screened in porch- we were a little concerned about privacy but that was no issue. We had coffee out there every morning. Every evening we had the pleasure of seeing a mother deer and her two babies walking down our path- so awesome. The villa it’s self was the perfect size for my husband & I. We truly loved everything about it. The bed was extremely comfortable, loved the walk-in shower with the rain shower head. As always, stocked so well with everything and anything you could possibly need. It was also very close to the beach. We timed it one day- from the front door until we had our chairs in the sand was only 3 minutes! Jeanette & Shawn are always so easy to work with- very prompt in responding – the whole booking system is very easy. We always appreciate the extreme cleanliness of their properties and their attention to details. We highly recommend this property- we look forward to staying again.

“Our entire family absolutely loved Kiawah – and we especially enjoyed Coastal Calm. We had a wonderful week and felt like we were at home the entire trip. Everything was so comfortable especially the beds. We enjoyed the golf course, the bike trips to the beach and the daily bike trips around the island. We also enjoyed our bike tour with one of the naturalist from the nature center. Again – your home was perfect – thank you!!”

“Our Third Stay” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
It was our third stay with Kiawah Island Getaways and every time has been great. The apartment is beautiful and has everything there for you. We love sitting on the balcony in the evening having a wine and watching the ocean and the deer going through the dunes feeding. Kiawah Island is beautiful and a short drive to Charleston. We recommend Kiawah Island and Kiawah Island Getaways.

“Perfect Ocean Views” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We have stayed at the Vista (Kiawah Island Getaways) many times over the years, and again this year in late August. As usual, it was wonderful. The Vista has a perfect ocean view that includes pelicans flying by the balcony every evening and often deer grazing down below. Ocean access is just down the elevator and onto the boardwalk to the beach. The owners are very helpful, and provide everything you might need for a perfect vacation. The unit is very clean and has everything you will need in the kitchen.

“Just a few steps to the beach!!!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Convenient and quick access to the beach made this cozy and clean 2 bedroom ideal for our family trip with a little one. We adored the view and appreciated the well equipped kitchen. Ease of access to the bike path was an additional plus. Well managed by a group that quickly responded to all our silly questions. We will certainly be back to this spot!

“Absolutely Fantastic” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Our beach experience here was one of the best ever. We have been coming to the island for over 30 years and this is by far the cleanest and best appointed rental we have had. Tissue, cleaning products, beach chairs, and more. . .everything was there for our convenience. The view from the living room as well as the master bedroom was romantic, restful, and soul healing. We will be renting this penthouse again if possible.

“The Sunny Day – Perfect Vacation!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The Sunny Day is a beautiful villa. It is perfectly decorated, and it is cleaned to perfection. Everything is spotless, and every detail is taken care of for guests. There are lovely books, fun games for children, the kitchen is perfectly clean and organized, and the linens and bedding are all top notch. It is close to the beach, and the property managers do a spectacular job. Highest recommendation!

“As good as it gets…..” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Although our first time to Kiawah, my wife and I have travelled extensively. In our experience, this was as good a rental experience and as nice a property as you will find. Although it would probably be tight for 6, we had our 2 teenage sons, and found the place nearly perfect for four. It was appointed in a high quality and tasteful manner rarely found in rentals. The unit and the complex is quiet and relaxing. The unit is on the end of the complex, and the view of the beach is narrow, (between the adjacent unit wall, and the treetops) but charming, and enough to enjoy while relaxing on the terrace, and to allow “surf report”. Plenty of towels, linens, etc, all comfortable, nice quality, and clean. Kitchen is very thoroughly equipped, but small and limited in dry food storage – not a problem if you’re planning on dining out a lot. Building lacks ground level storage for beach gear – chairs, umbrella, etc. but we simply carried the up and down and stored them on the balcony. I wouldn’t rent them – the rentals are always set up at the dune, which at lower tide is very far from the surf. Bikes will also be exposed – kind of a drag, but common. Shawn and Jeanette, who we met in person as we were leaving, really care about the properties and the guest experience. You won’t be disappointed.

“Definitely Recommend the Beach Cottage” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This was my first time to rent a condo on Kiawah and my experience was extremely impressive. The property managers were excellent to work with and made the check-in experience very easy, especially if you arrive late in the evening. The accommodations were exactly as pictured on the website and extremely clean. The beach is a very short distance and the view of the lagoon from the screened porch was idyllic….I would definitely recommend and will return to the Beach Cottage.

“Don’t Go Anywhere Else!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Best possible Kiawah experience for a beach condo rental – don’t go anywhere else. Unit was high quality in all aspects and very well appointed, down to a cooler for the beach, and a binder full of local information. Rental process was super easy. Communication was swift and thorough. The ‘no check in’ arrival was ideal for driving in from out of state. Condo was everything you hope for – lovely, clean, comfortable, well appointed and well located. Bike and beach storage was our only minor gripe – bikes racks are exposed outside, and beach stuff needs to be lugged to and from the unit, which was a minor hassle, especially with a SUP (stand-up paddleboard). It is clear Shawn and Jeanette who own and run the company really care about the properties and about the guest experience. They are easy to get a hold of, and very responsive. We highly recommend renting from them.

“Fabulous Stay at the Vista Villa” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Everything about this condo on the beach was fabulous, and we will go back whenever we can. We loved being able to sit and watch the ocean from so many vantage points – from an armchair in the living room, from the balcony, from the bedroom, from the kitchen. It was marvelous! And then to be able to walk right out to the beach and ride bikes, walk, swim, or just sit under an umbrella was perfect for us. We rose before dawn to watch the sunrise and see what new turtle nests had been discovered by the Turtle Patrol, and we ended every day with a walk on the beach at sunset. The condo itself was lovely and very comfortable and every detail was provided. we loved everything about it!

“Never Wanted To Leave!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My husband and I wanted a relaxing romantic beach vacation so we decided to go back for a second time to the Escape at Windswept on Kiawah Island. From the minute we entered the condo, complete serenity washed over both of us. We were greeted by an immaculate condo with fresh flowers sitting in a vase on the kitchen counter and soft music playing in the background. The condo is a neutral tone with light blue accents throughout making it feel large and open. The views of the ocean easily obtained simply stepping out onto the deck and walking into the bedroom. The bed linens were excellent: invitingly fluffy, soft, and tons of pillows. Towels were plentiful including two large beach towels. An empty beach tote and small cooler ready for our use was in the closet. Two frozen mugs were in the freezer. The kitchen was well stocked including olive oil, seasonings, and garbage bags. We enjoyed regular bike rides, the pristine beach, and nature watching! We saw deer, dolphins, pelicans, osprey, an alligator, and my favorite; a baby loggerhead turtle! We had one very rainy day where we stayed mostly inside and yet still very content. I mostly enjoyed waking to the view of the ocean from the bed. When the week was over, both my husband and I wanted to stay so much that we emailed Jeanette and Shawn if we could rent the condo for one more night. They quickly got back to us and though it was already rented, they were able to provide us one more night at another location very close by: The Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch. They made the move very easy having the new place ready by 10:00am. The Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch had a totally different feel (cottage style décor which was busting with color: pinks, blues, and greens) but with the same wonderful inviting detail: great bed linens, stocked kitchen, cooler, tote, and frozen mugs etc. The entire wall in the kitchen/living room area is a sliding glass door that leads to a screened-in-porch surrounded by beautiful green trees and a view of a bike path and small pound. The best part was that it was only 80 steps from the front door to the beach boardwalk! In all we loved our beach vacation and truly appreciate Jeanette and Shawn’s great attention to detail in making both rental locations superb!

This is our third trip to “The Shade” and our experience never disappoints. Shawn and Jeanette have put together a wonderful condo. It is close to the beach, spotless, well equipped, comfortable and just a delight to stay at. We enjoy the screened porch to read when we aren’t out on the beach.

I feel spoiled now because it’s going to be hard to find something as good as this. We stayed in The Sandpiper at Shipwatch and it was gorgeous and in the perfect location. It’s really as the pictures show. I cannot believe how impeccably clean it was. Jeanette and Shawn really want you to feel like it’s your home away from home–the kitchen was stocked right down to the last detail like an apple corer. They have this big white binder of things to do in Kiawah and Charleston and they should know–they’ve lived there for 30 years. We wanted a relaxing, fun, low-key family vacation and we got it!

This was our third time visiting Kiawah. When we were looking for a place to stay few years ago we found Kiawah Island Getaways, and we were happy to rent the property through Shawn and Jeanette. They are wonderful. They thought of every single detail. The property is tastefully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped, beds are comfortable and linens/towels are great quality. The property also has a washer and dryer which was great when traveling with kids. We are planning on visiting Kiawah next year. It became our family’s favorite place.

“The Perfect Family Vacation!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This is our third trip to Kiawah with Kiawah Island Getaways. Kiawah is our family’s favorite vacation spot! This time we stayed at “The Sandpiper at Shipwatch” and it was absolutely perfect! There were no details left out. The decor was new, fresh, warm, and inviting. With clean, modern furniture and beach views from every room, we quickly found ourselves able to feel right at home. We had everything we needed. It was exactly the way I had pictured it from the website. There was a notebook in the condo that gave all sorts of helpful information from places to eat, sights to see, and local island fun. The bedrooms each had incredible comfortable beds and a balcony that overlooked the ocean. A bathroom was next to each room and allowed us to have privacy in the open concept layout. Our condo was the perfect location. It was right off the main road with gorgeous ocean front views.

What a pleasure it was to spend our week in such an incredible condo and to cherish family memories both on and off the beach. Our days were spent sitting on the beach, taking in the views, and hiding from the stress of every day life. Our afternoons were spent biking along the designated bike paths and into the market for a refreshing latte or an ice cream.

One morning, when the tide was low and the wind was on our side, we managed to bike to the end of the island to see spectacular views and find a variety of seashells! We also visited a boating market where we purchased shrimp straight off the boats! Meals were spent both in and out of the condo, and both equaled up to each other. Overall, our week could not have gone any better, and we look forward to visiting in the near future.

We have just returned from our third stay at The Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch on Kiawah Island which is through Kiawah Island Getaways. Each time has been wonderful. We are always greeted with music and fresh flowers, which is calming after a long wait in traffic!! The decor is refreshing and allows for a relaxing week. Many items are provided and the kitchen is well stocked which makes packing for the trip so much easier. Shawn and Jeanette do a wonderful job with communications setting up your trip and also offer lists of activities and places to visit. During this visit, our air conditioning went out; however, we called and within 4 hours someone had come and fixed the unit. In fact, any time we have called with questions, they have been prompt about responding. They are a great couple to work with and truly want your stay to be the very best! Highly recommend staying at one of their places!

The condo was wonderful. Very clean and comfortable. We appreciated how well stocked it was: laundry detergent, soap, toilet paper, beach towels, cooler as this all made our stay very convenient. We enjoyed the island and how much it had grown in the last 10 years that we had been there. The bike paths were incredible and we enjoyed seeing all the wildlife that Kiawah had. Thank you for a memorable vacation! We would easily stay in this condo again, or possibly a larger one if we bring our family along!

“A Beach Cottage to Remember” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The Beach Cottage was one of the nicest villas that we’ve ever rented. It is very nicely decorated and appointed with furnishings that many other places don’t provide such as beach towels, kitchen supplies (including plastic wrap, baggies, twist ties, calculator, pens). The comfort level is a 10. The on-line listing accurately portrays and describes the villa. The villa was spotless and well-maintained. Jeanette promptly brought over requested supplemental supplies. The villa is perfect quiet get-away for a couple. We choose to eat in the first night so we could relax and enjoy the view of the trees and lagoon from the screened-in-porch. There are excellent local restaurants within 25 minutes, i.e., Chez Fish, Fat Hen, Wild Olive. The beach is fantastic–wide and open during low tide and not crowded while we were there (before Memorial Day weekend) and only minutes away via boardwalk. I added many steps to my FitBit count walking the beach and trails. The only items we missed having were a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a sprayer in the kitchen sink, however, neither is a deterrent to staying there again.

“An INCREDIBLE Vacation!!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My wife researched a great deal to find this property. We were not at all disappointed! Let me first brag on Shawn and Jeanette Lawson who are the property managers. They were responsive to all of our communications and when we arrived we were instantly greeted with very nice touches that made us feel at home. The villa is very clean with great amenities. Fully functional kitchen, great bathrooms and extremely comfortable beds. The entire complex is very quiet and upscale. The beach access has a nice boardwalk and the beach itself was never crowded during our week. Some other things you should know: I personally wouldn’t classify this property as Oceanfront. You only see a sliver of the ocean from the main balcony because of tree obstruction and the rest of the buildings. If you are looking for a vista of the ocean, it won’t be this property. The 55-inch TV is nice, but I’d like to make a plea to the owners to upgrade to an HD cable service! You are provided a door code on the property for check-in so there is no need to stop by a rental office – that made it so easy!! Lastly, we are generous tippers when it comes to anyone who provides service to us. I never felt compelled to tip the young workers who provided the umbrella and beach chair service. The guys were not overly friendly and most mornings our chairs had quite a bit of sand in them and had been setup where dead seagrass had settled from the tides. I felt like they could’ve made a better effort to clean the area and chairs. Despite those few minor things I stand by my 5-star rating of this property and the vacation we had.

Superb getaway for us “newly minted empty nesters” experiencing our first getaway as a couple in 28 years after raising our family. The accommodations were unequaled, compared to any resort where we have vacationed the past 28 years. Leave your bedroom sliding door open and fall asleep to the ocean breeze. Awaken every day with the sunrise over the beach – leave the bedroom drape open! Go to Bohicket for dinner at Red’s and watch the sunset over the marsh. Dine casual or nice at so many places. Just a 1/2 hour drive from Charleston to spend the day touring, shopping and dining. Bike, and walk, on a virtually secluded beach for miles, or through the island on the bike path. Be sure to use the binoculars from your ocean view porch to see dolphin diving in and out of the ocean. You will see a family of deer in the bushes right under your deck.

“Perfect in Every Way!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
My wife and I arrived to a personal greeting on the door of this gorgeous villa. Walking inside, we heard soft music, saw fresh flowers on the table and a fresh smell greeted us. The view was breathtaking from the villa. We could see the ocean and beach from our bedroom, which was my wife’s favorite place to watch the waves and just relax. I enjoyed the deck where I could sit back and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the surf breaking on the shore and the deer enjoying snacks right below our villa in the dunes. And to top it off, the weather was amazing…..sunny and highs in the mid-80’s in mid-May. It was a very short walk to the wide, clean Kiawah beach. We have been coming to Kiawah for over 30 years now, and there isn’t a better place to vacation for us than Kiawah anwhere in the world. Shawn and Jeanette made it that much more enjoyable with this outstanding villa, the best one we have been in on the island. Everything was impeccable and extremely clean. Every detail was attended to and it was very well appointed. My wife and I usually vacation here with our family and rent a house in Vanderhorst. But for just the 2 of us on a romantic vacation, The Escape is impossible to beat. We’ll definitely be back soon. We highly recommend renting from Shawn and Jeanette and Kiawah Island Getaways.

“Would Gladly Visit Again” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
When you think beach vacation, US island, good food, options for food, entertainment, activities and a chance to visit historical sites this has to rank in the top few. The condo itself was very good. It made us think about how we could live here full time. One week in early May was very nice. Weather was warm but not too hot or too much humidity. Only one thunderstorm during the day for the week. Several good views of the ocean were very nice and the small balcony had a good view. Typical of the nice touches, there was a pair of binoculars to use at the house. For two people the house was big, it would be a good fit for four. Two or four children and two adults could work. We pre ordered the bikes and the beach chairs and umbrella. That was a good move. Made it very easy. Walk out the door down to ground level and then walk to the beach and in your beach chair in less than three minutes. We didn’t walk the entire 10 mile beach but we would rate our spot one of the best and the beach itself deserves its rating as one of the top beaches on the East Coast. Biking was great with the paths and the ability and the right side to use the beach. I didn’t play golf this time but the number of courses and the sights of the courses as we went by made me promise to bring clubs next time. If you don’t know about Charleston food then let me say it is very good. The food places have made it to Kiawah Island and maybe beyond. There is a lot to see and do without going to Charleston but if you haven’t been it is a very interesting city. The villa comes with a book with a list of places. All the ones we tried that were listed a favorite of Kiawah Island Getaways were spot on. Their comments were very accurate. Yes we had a great time and would gladly visit again.

“Great Place To Relax And Unwind” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
This is a great place to get away, relax and unwind. The Surf Shack is very nice, comfortable and great for a couple or family. My husband, myself and our baby had a few nights alone, and we also had family visit for a few days (2 adults and 2 children) and there was plenty of space for everyone. Shawn & Jeanette thought of everything…the beds are very comfortable, with nice linens and towels. They had the crib and highchair I needed to rent…which was very helpful…it was all set up and ready to go when we arrived. There is a TV in each room, a GREAT outdoor seating area with a grill and fire pit…. as well as a screened outside dining area with heaters, a fan and a TV. The kitchen is amazing….it has everything you need if you want to prepare a meal of your own. The cottage is within short walking distance to the pool and the beach. The setting is very quite and peaceful, could not have asked for more. My only suggestion would be to allow additional travel time if you plan to drive into Charleston for the day, it is only a 30-40 min. drive but during the week the traffic coming to and from the island can get really backed up. My husband was attending a medical conference downtown, so this was our only issue. We do not regret staying on the island, but would have booked a hotel our first few days and then moved out to the island for the remainder of our trip.

“Spring Breakers from Kentucky” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The villa lived up to our expectations and them some. It was easy getting onto the island with our printed guest pass, and was a beautiful, scenic drive to the villa. We couldn’t believe how quite it was all over the island! The villa was located on the 3rd floor and we never once had to wait for the elevator. As soon as we walked into the villa, we were met with a pleasant fragrance, lights on, peaceful music playing and just a very inviting atmosphere. The size of the villa was perfect for our party of 6, which included 3 children. What was most helpful was that the kitchen was stocked with all the essentials, so you don’t have to buy all those extra things that you only need for the stay – salt and pepper, sugar, dish soap, paper towels, etc. Everything was very neat and labeled really well. The decorations were beautiful and felt unique to the space. And the beds…they were so plush and comfortable, from the sheets to the pillows and duvet. There were also toys, games and DVD’s supplied, which was nice for the kids. We found the Freshfields village pretty quickly and dined there 2 nights out of the week, as well as picked up groceries. The drive was only about 5-10 mins from the villa. We never used the Night Heron park pool, but it was very close, and we were told that it was heated. We did take the kids to the Night Heron park and nature center, which was only about a 10 min walk from the villa. We drove to Charleston one day, and the only traffic we experienced was on our drive back around 4 pm, but it moved fairly quickly. Overall the villa was immaculate, well maintained and organized and very homey. We were pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was all over the island. One thing to note, bring bikes if you can! It was too hard for us to get the entire family a bike to ride, considering our 4 year old can’t ride a bike yet, but we would have loved to take advantage of all the lovely bike paths. So, if you’re looking for a peaceful destination with beautiful surroundings, Kiawah Island and the Mariah are perfect for you! We would come back in a heart beat.

“Spot On!” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We were extremely pleased with the Shell Seeker! My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed at the Shell Seeker for a long weekend. Our goal was to get away from the kids and just RELAX. We didn’t care if we stepped foot out of the house the entire weekend. I don’t know about you, but I can’t relax if my surrounding aren’t pretty. The house is beautifully decorated which made it very easy for me to relax just by staying there. The living room furniture was comfortable, beds and linens were nice, bath room was amazing, shower head was awesome, kitchen was high end and well stocked. The porch furniture was actually pretty comfortable, too (more so than it apears in the photo.) Check-in and check-out was a breeze. We did venture down to the beach a time or two. We drove rather than walked because we didn’t know exactly where we were going. It seemed like a 30 second drive to the closest beach access; walking would have been totally fine. We would most definitely consider returning to the Shell Seeker. Over all it gets an A+!

We ate at the Jasmine Porch which was pretty good. The Ryder Cup Bar at the Ocean Course had one of the most beautiful views. The food was not much to talk about (probably because I ordered the wrong thing), but we would go back just to get to sit on the porch on the 18th hole and look at the ocean. The Wild Olive, about a 20 minute drive, was hands-down our best meal in a long time.

“Beautiful and well located cottage” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The “Shade” is a very well appointed and well located condo/cottage just a very short stroll to the beach. The appointments in the cottage are high end, from the refrigerator to the stove to the dish washer to the counters in the kitchen and bathroom to the shower to the NEST thermostat, and are excellent. The cottage is very comfortable and well organized. We enjoyed sitting on the small screened-in-porch at all times of the day. The cottage comes well equipped with paper towels, soap for showers and the dishwasher and the clothes washer and just about anything one can think of.

With regard to activities and restaurants, the beach is great for walking, running and riding bikes and golf at the Ocean Course is great (but expensive) and we heard that the other courses on Kiawah are very nice too. We found the Fresh Fields shopping center, within 5 minutes by car, and all of the restaurants, the grocery store and the few other stores were quite nice.

We highly recommend staying at the Shade.

“Ultimate in Relaxation” ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We just returned from a week at The Shell Seeker on Sparrow Pond. This was our first time at Kiawah, and first time renting a house. We are now “hooked.” The home was exactly as photographed: very warm and inviting, and the common areas and bedrooms were so comfortable and had everything we needed. There are fun games and puzzles, which we played every day (our boys are 9 and 12), lots of movies for all ages, washer and dryer, and one of the three bathrooms has a large showerhead, which is excellent. Be sure to have bikes delivered, because for us, that made our trip even more of an adventure, as we biked everywhere, almost every day! Shawn and Jeanette were very accomodating when we contacted them in advance; and when we arrived and asked them to fix the dryer, they did so quickly. We highly recommend Kiawah Island Getaways and this home in particular. The location is great as you have privacy but are close to the Straw Market, which houses an art studio (Turtles Nest) for the kids (they made lovely fused glass pieces, and painted pottery) and Southern Kitchen for breakfast, and of course, you can ride your bikes there. Freshfields is farther, but within biking distance (if you have stamina), or a short car ride, and dinner at Hege’s is very good (resort casual). Kayaking with a Naturalist (Anna is awesome) on Mingo Point was a highlight, and very closeby. Dolphin watching at low tide on the tip of the island was fun, and only about a mile’s walk or bikeride round trip from the entry to the main beach after entering Kiawah. Tomasso’s for dinner-Turtle Point (resort casual) is a must, in our opinion, and lunch at Ryder Cup Bar (fish tacos) will give you fuel to do the very best shell hunting out beyond the 18th hole of Ocean Course. Spectacular scenery. Unparallelled on the island. We will be back!

I did lots of research to find the perfect condo for our first trip to Kiawah. I found it. The owners keep it very clean and very well supplied. My husband and I were there for almost 4 weeks so I did lots of meal preparation and everything that I needed was there. Linens were all top quality and the furniture was comfortable. Top floor also makes it quiet. The pictures and descriptions were accurate. We would love to return and highly recommend this condo. “Excellent location on beautiful Kiawah Island. Wonderfully decorated, ultra clean, with high quality materials throughout. Our experience matched the VRBO property description and photos perfectly! As two old college friends escaping the daily grind for a long Mom’s weekend away, this property was perfect with plenty of room to spread out. Two generously sized bedrooms with luxury linens, comfortable bathrooms and every detail considered. When the rain kept us indoors, we found the condo to be comfortable and filled with resources to stay warm & cozy. We made ample use of the DVD player & movies, enjoyed the Keurig machine so we could personalize our hot beverage preferences, and even had cozy throws to keep us warm as we relaxed with a good book. The views and proximity to the beach were perfect! We found the condo location very convenient with quick access off the island when we wanted to explore beyond Kiawah. Also helpful for us was the short drive to the Freshfields Village shopping area which was great for any grocery needs, restaurant choices, and shopping. Overall I would highly recommend this location, the Treetops unit, and would feel totally comfortable renting any property listed by Jeanette & Shawn!”

“We arrived to find the condominium prepared for our arrival. The views from the floor to ceiling living room windows was incredible. From it we watched a pod of dolphins frolicking and feeding near the shrimpers that frequented the horizon. The furnishings were excellent and it was great to have bath sheets and good linens instead of the standard fair offered at the resort. The Shipwatch Villas are located such that this property had a view to the east, up the beach. Access to the beach was easy and with our visit being in November we had the beach nearly to ourselves, despite the good weather. We recommend this property to any couple looking for a romantic setting and privacy. The property was clean and well maintained. Perfect location for two couples. 2BR and 2BA gave everyone privacy and comfort in a beautifully decorated condo with a beautiful view of the ocean. The deck with the view in the morning for coffee was a treat. Found everything to be just as advertised on the website – no surprises. The little touches were especially nice – the beach towels for guest use, the cooler for the beach, the umbrella in the closet, and ice pack in the freezer to mention a few. We had several minor issues when we got there and were able to reach Jeanette and Shawn immediately for resolution (and I think they were on vacation)! The information book is invaluable – we went through it page by page and ate at nearly every restaurant! We even added one! Comment from one of our August 2015 guests about the “Sandpiper at Shipwatch
“Still recovering from nostalgia for the wonderful holiday enjoyed here while visiting Kiawah Island and Charleston. First things first, the condo was sparkling clean. I don’t know if that’s important to all travelers but it’s always been a priority for us. Everything from the bedrooms to the bathrooms to the kitchen was well attended and better yet, well stocked. The very courteous owners not left any small detail ignored and have gone out of their way to stock the unit with everything you’d have at home. There’s pots, coffeemakers (K-cup and drip), cooking supplies (pepper, olive oil, salt, etc), lots of glass and plastic dishware and cups and mugs, cutlery and a nice knife block, plastic bags, paper towels, etc. Further, the owners didn’t skimp on anything: the beds had really outstanding sheets (my wife constantly reminds me to find out where they got them so we can get them also); the towels in all bathrooms are thick and comfortable; and there’s soap and shampoo in case you forgot them at home. Indeed, they even had beach towels for guests. Way too considerate. If there was one issue, it was the wifi: it was inconsistent and not the fastest. Fortunately, we didn’t spend too much time on computers/tablets inside and the 4G wireless signal on our mobile phones picked up the slack. We just chalked it down to the cable provider’s fault. As for the unit, it was a very comfortable 2 bedroom (1 king and 2 queens), 2 bath, kitchen, dining room and living room with 2 outdoor terraces overlooking the ocean. We arranged with the owners to rent 2 bicycles (which we used almost daily), boogie boards, some beach chairs and an umbrella. If we ever had any issues (just one), they responded immediately and resolved it shortly thereafter. All in all, it was an excellent holiday and I’m already planning to come back and hopefully stay in the same condo (if they have availability). So pleased to interact with people who take so much pride in what they do!”

“Thanks so much for the fabulous review – we appreciate your taking the time to write comments. Just as aside – the Shipwatch Wifi is being phased out and we have installed a new network which you may not have noticed since I had it listed as an alternative Wifi source. This condo is described in that one word-amazing! The decor was great-very nice without being stuffy. The bed was so comfortable! We really appreciated the drapes in the bedroom, giving the room darkness & so much better than vertical blinds you find in so many ocean front condo’s. Then there’s the view! We had morning coffee & dinner most nights on the balcony. A great breeze in the evening & we could watch the deer come out & graze. I can’t say enough about this condo- so well equipped also. The owners were easy to work with & responded to e-mails promptly. We have been long time visitors to Isle of Palms & Hilton Head, but we have found a new spot with this great condo & Kiawah! We are already planning a return visit.”

“Great Stay! We had such a great experience at The Treetops! We are a family of 4 with two small children. The apartment was SUPER clean, very tastefully decorated, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay on Kiawah. They even had tons of little extras (toys for kids, movies, books, etc). The management company also went above and beyond with tons of local info, maps, beach rental options, etc. We really can’t say enough about this property. We will be back.
The only negative is that you don’t have access to everything on the island. Some of the pools, etc are only available for guests of the golf resort. This, especially, made it tough because there was a super sweet pool, directly across the street, that we couldn’t use. This drove my kids crazy. Other than that…..it was awesome.”

Prior to this visit, I had only stayed at the Sanctuary in Kiawah. I was nervous about staying in a different venue, but we could not have been MORE pleased with our accommodations. The property managers were so helpful and quick to respond to my every question, both before and during my stay. The condo was IMMACULATE. Clean, beautiful, very well appointed. We arrived to lovely lighting and music and the weekend just got better from there. The linens, towels and bedding were top of the line, the location was central to everything and the view of the ocean, just spectacular. I would stay here again. I would recommend it to friends. I would buy the unit and make this my permanent vacation home! [The only suggestion I have is whether the condo association could provide luggage carts (like in hotels) so we would not have to make so many trips to the car and back to unload and load. My husband and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary and 9 wonderful days at “The Shade” during one of the hottest weeks in SC. We were warmly greeted with a welcome sign, soft music, video and a beautiful vase of fresh flowers on the table. We felt “at home” the whole time we were there and we hated to leave. The screened in porch (with ceiling fan) was extremely enjoyable especially in the morning and evening while we watched the squirrels, egret and birds playing. “Kiawah….Our Dream Vacation Spot!
Our first visit to Kiawah was 19 years ago. It was approx. 4 years after that when we met Shawn and Jeanette and had the opportunity to see The Treetops and knew immediately that our future bookings at Kiawah would be through them. Shawn and Jeanette are not just owners/managers, but they are very talented in remodeling, putting in high class touches, and taking care of the vacationing needs of their renters. The quality of their furnishings, dishes, linens, and personal touches to provide renters with beach towels, beach bag, frozen mugs in the freezer, washer/dryer with detergent and dryer anti static towels, speaks to their need to provide renters a comfortable, homey, and well furnished villa to make your visit one you’ll not forget. Since we started renting with Shawn and Jeanette, we haven’t chosen to rent from anyone else. Not only do they provide outstanding/excellent provisions, but they are also just phone call away from any questions or concerns. They have and will/and have responded quickly to make sure your stay is a memorable one. We have been in five of their villas, and spent approx. twenty-plus weeks in total renting from them. We are already planning two weeks for next year, and hopefully four for the following summer. Very clean, great quality furnishings throughout, and personal details for a well thought out and inviting atmosphere is why we keep going back. As you can probably tell, we can say enough about how much we appreciate staying at villas provided by Shawn and Jeanette to enjoy our favorite vacation spot: Kiawah Island. By the way, the enclosed porch at the Beach Cottage is awesome! We saw several deer, birds, and even alligators. Just the best!”

“The Perfect Vacation Spot!!
This was our first time to Kiawah and we fell in love with the island while staying at this beautiful condo. The views are stunning. Everything was immaculate. It truly felt like we were staying at a 5 star hotel. The Management team was available anytime we had a question. We also loved the location and being so close to the Straw Market. We are already planning our next trip back!”

Comment from one of our May 2015 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“Best Condo in Shipwatch!! We have been vacationing on Kiawah for 15 years and love Shipwatch because of the excellent location on the island and close to access off too!! This is the cleanest, most well appointed condo we have stayed in thus far. The kitchen had everything you would need and the layout had privacy doors for each bedroom so it was very private and nice. The condo is at the end of the hallway which is quieter also. All extra arrangements for bikes and beach umbrella were handled by the agent and clearly and promptly arranged. The washer/dryer in the unit is a huge plus. The only downside was because the kitchen was so well appointed, I had to make room for my own dry grocery items!!! Encourage you to eat out anyways!!! Not a bad thing on vacation. The welcome booklet was fabulous with a plethora of information. I definitely recommend the Treetops at Shipwatch for your vacation!!”

Comment from one of our May 2015 guests about the “Sunny Day at Turtle Cove
“The Sunny Day was a PERFECT “home away from home.” Where I spent half of the time busily writing (in the sunshine on the nearby dock – or in the sun FILLED condo), our family joined me for the other half of our stay. The condo was spotless and wonderfully maintained. We cannot wait to return.”

Comment from one of our April 2015 guests about the “Shell Seeker at Sparrow Pond
“This was our first visit to Kiawah and we had a great time. The home is just as pictured on the website. It reminded me of a home that would be featured in Cottage Living magazine. The decor is very tasteful, kitchen appliances were top of the line, the shower water pressure was awesome, comfortable bedding, etc. When originally booking, I kept being drawn back to this property because it appeared to be so well maintained. My only concern was the walking distance to the beach. If you are in good shape and don’t carry too much stuff, it really is not a problem. I timed my walk from doorstep to chair in the sand and it took me 10 minutes. The walk is mostly shaded and it really was not too bad. Our teenagers rode their bikes each time and just chained them at the parking area across from the boardwalk, making the trip even a little shorter for them. Check in and check out was super easy. I liked the fact that they had a code for the door so there were no keys to keep up with. You will not be disappointed with this rental.”

Comment from one of our April 2015 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“This was our family’s first trip to Kiawah, and we had no idea what to expect. We were so happy with Treetops at Shipwatch, and we couldn’t have asked for a better location or nicer villa! Kiawah delivered on everything we had heard from friends, and Shipwatch was a real find. The villa is perfectly situated on the island with a private boardwalk to the pristine beach, which was never very crowded. And, it’s a very short bike ride in one direction to the little Freshfields shopping center with restaurants, grocery and shops, or in the other direction to the Sanctuary Hotel. In a pinch, there’s also a restaurant next door, as well as an ice cream shop. The villa was very clean, comfortable, modern and completely stocked with everything we needed — the kitchen is well appointed; beach towels were very much appreciated; linens are all very nice! The bedrooms were cozy and quiet, we all slept very well. We also enjoyed relaxing on the balcony overlooking the ocean. We appreciated the binder prepared by Jeanette and Shawn with all their recommendations and ideas. Our two children, ages 8 & 11 loved the villa, too. We all felt totally at home. This was a wonderful and completely worry-free Spring Break. We plan to return!”

Comment from one of our March 2015 guests about the “Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch
“My wife and I desperately needed a week’s rest and found our spot about a 90 second walk from the ocean in a villa condo on Mariner’s Watch. The beach was beautiful – miles to either cycle or walk on and the sunrises over the ocean were spectacle, so good I filmed one on my iPhone to re-visit whenever ‘wave therapy’ is needed. With a kitchen, living room, screened in sitting area and a cozy bedroom, it was perfect. We split the week between living at the ocean and trekking into Charleston which is truly a gem of a city.”

Comment from one of our March 2015 guests about the “Sea Shell at Oceanwoods
“This cottage was beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need for a great beach vacation. The beds were comfortable and the linens were luxurious. Just a short walk from the beach, the location of this home is ideal for anyone with small children.”

Comment from one of our February 2015 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“Another Awesome Stay at the Vista. This was our 3rd stay at the Vista; my wife and I stay for a week every year. It is always just as beautiful every time we stay. The Vista to us really feels like home very comfortable and inviting. We love the ocean and beach views, the stars that come out at night and the awesome sunrises and sunsets. We really recommend for a couples getaway.”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“This was our honeymoon 30 years later. The reservation process was very accommodating which was important for us since we were not sure until fairly late whether or not we would be able to get away for the dates we wanted. The villa was luxurious! We didn’t want for anything. The view of the ocean and the proximity to the beach were spectacular. We ate out two nights and one lunch and bought items at the local grocery store at Fresh Fields for our other meals. When we planned the trip, we thought we would go to Charleston for a day, but we were content to stay put.”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about “Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch
“The Beach Cottage was beautifully and comfortably furnished with every thoughtful amenity included, from cooking implements to board games. Bikes and beach chairs were easy to rent. The cottage included every item for convenience; beach towels, rain umbrella, a generous supply of laundry detergent, dish washing detergent and dish detergent. There was nothing extra that we needed to pack in our carry-ons. Especially pleasant was the “commute” to the beach which consisted of walking across the parking lot. We saw pods of frolicking dolphins and diving pelicans while reading novels in our beach chairs. We tried the suggested pecan-crusted grouper at Chez Fish, half price burgers at King Street Grille, had an elegant dining experience at the Sanctuary, and even enjoyed the benefit of listening to some fabulous Afro/Cuban jazz at the weekend jazz festival. Traveling into Charleston for a carriage tour was easy and educational. The nearby Freshfields shopping area included everything a visitor might need, including an Urgent Care Medical office.”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about the “Sandpiper at Shipwatch
“Wonderful views and location. Fully equipped, very attentive management team. Would rent again. Nice to have one bedroom to sleep four, and additional master. Only negative no laundry in unit, but common laundry very close to unit.”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about the “Escape at Windswept
“This villa is excellent. Beautiful view from the Master bedroom of the sunrise at Kiawah over the beach. You will not be disappointed. Shawn and Jeanette are excellent to work with and go to the extra effort to make your stay the best!”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“Shawn and Jeanette made this a special weekend for my boyfriend and I! Very romantic and quiet getaway on the ocean front at Kiawah. The view of the ocean from the balcony while limited was excellent. We watched loads of Dolphins playing and feeding in the waves as we enjoyed out bottle of wine from the balcony! Villa is excellent.”

Comment from one of our November 2014 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“We’ve visited Kiawah Island many times and usually stay in the Shipwatch set of condos because they have ocean views and are convenient to many eating and shopping venues. We’ve never booked thru VRBO before, but we came across the description of the Vista 1 bedroom condo located in Shipwatch quite by accident. The description and pictures indicated a nicer, better equipped, and more comfortable condo than we had ever stayed at before. We contacted the owner and booked this condo. We found out that the owner has several other beautiful condos in Kiawah and they have named their condo business Kiawah Island Getaways. We weren’t disappointed! This condo has all the comforts of home and then some. Beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you might need to enhance your stay. Being on the 4th floor of Shipwatch, the views of the ocean are spectacular! And to make it even more enticing, the area around the condo is frequented by families of deer and I love to watch them grazing and playing together just feet away from my balcony. This condo is far above any other we have stayed in at Kiawah and we definitely will be back!”

Comment from one of our October 2014 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“Our visit to the Treetops Villa was fantastic. Everything you need is included. Accomodations were very clean, neat and the beds were fantastic! Shops, grocery stores, and restaurants were very close. Biking, beach, golf all at your finger tips. We were very happy and highly recommend the Treetops at Shipwatch. ”

Comment from one of our September 2014 guests about the “Escape at Windswept
“Wonderful Oceanfront Villa & Exceptional Service – Our family has rented at this location many times and it is always fantastic. The view is wonderful, the location is perfect, and the Villa is perfect for a couple!! The amenities are wonderful and they always ensure you have things you would be likely to forget!! ”

Comment from one of our September 2014 guests about the “Sandpiper at Shipwatch
“A beautiful, clean villa with sweeping ocean views. We had a wonderful time in “Sandpiper” at Shipwatch. We loved the condo, the view!, the decorations and furnishings, and how clean it was. It is a beautiful villa. It was the most well-equipped rental, with plenty of towels and pillows and blankets, soap, toilet paper, and trash bags. Those are things that usually aren’t provided, and things you usually forget to bring. So it was nice to have that readily available. This was definitely the BEST place we have stayed in from ANY rental on vrbo.com. (We have probably rented about 10 times from this site at several different beaches across the southeast.) The Best! We would definitely rent from Kiawah Island Getaways again when we return to Kiawah. ”

Comment from one of our September 2014 guests about the “Breeze at Seascape
“Our villa, nicknamed the “Breeze” was beautifully decorated, perfectly maintained and filled with numerous, thoughtful comforts and conveniences. It was immaculately clean, the linens were soft, thick and new, as were the towels and everything was of the best quality. The pillow top mattresses were heavenly, as were the pillows and the furnishings were very comfortable and artfully arranged. In addition, there was laundry detergent, fresh coffee pods, a built in high end espresso machine in the kitchen, high quality soaps and shampoos in the showers, etc. The property managers did a fabulous job of taking care of all the little touches. We loved it and will definitely stay here again. ”

Comment from one of our August 2014 guests about “Beach Cottage at Mariners Watch
“Clean and comfortable with a screened porch and washer/dryer. Even smelled good when we first walked in. Easy walk to the beach. Very nice sheets and towels were provided which was appreciated because we flew to SC. Property managers are extremely accommodating -they provided information about renting bikes and beach chairs, as well as lots of information about the island and Charleston. We also received reminder emails as our rental week got closer. We even got a great rate by using their rental car link. Would definitely stay here again. ”

Comment from one of our August 2014 guests about the “Shell Seeker at Sparrow Pond
“My husband and I have visited Kiawah several times over the last 25 years and this one was the best. We met our daughter and her family here to get in one more week of summer before the school season starts. When we arrived, we could not have been happier when we walked inside the cottage. It was just as beautiful as the pictures on the website and so tastefully decorated. Shawn and Jeanette answered all of our questions before we even asked them with the information provided in the binder on the kitchen counter. Their restaurant suggestions were right on too as we tried Husk and Magnolias in Charleston and Tomasso’s on Kiawah. They were all terrific! We highly recommend the Shell Seeker and hope to come back soon. ”

Comment from one of our August 2014 guests about the “Shade at Seascape
“My wife and I spent a week at “The Shade” and we could not have been happier. The villa was extremely comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The owners were very attentive to our needs. If you are looking for a relaxing, worry-free vacation, this is the place. ”

Comment from one of our August 2014 guests about the “Shade at Seascape
“The Shade was perfect for a couple; it was very well-equipped and tastefully decorated. We felt as though we were at a friend’s home-very unlike a typical beach rental! We absolutely loved sitting on the screened porch. The unit had the best of both worlds- wooded view and one minute walk to the beach path! In 30 years of renting beach condos, I was really surprised to find workable knives, can openers, etc.! It was not an issue with us, but the pool was a bit of a walk from the unit. ”

Comment from one of our July 2014 guests about the “Shade at Seascape
“My wife and I stayed at ‘The Shade’ for our honeymoon and we couldn’t have been happier. Everything was thought of and taken care of for us – beach bag, towels, chairs, bikes, etc.. We also really appreciated the book of restaurants and attractions in Kiawah and Charleston that was left for us. We tried out many of the suggested options there and were not disappointed. Personal favorite part about ‘The Shade’ – the screened in area. We sat out there every morning with our coffee and watched the squirrels and birds before we went to the beach – complete serenity. We’ll be back to Kiawah, and when we go, we know we have a cozy place, close to the beach to stay!”

Comment from one of our July 2014 guests about the “Breeze at Seascape
“Our family has vacationed on Kiawah Island for over 10 years and The Breeze has become our new favorite condo! It is beautiful and comfortable on many levels. From the well-appointed and well-stocked kitchen to plush, comfy beds, to a cozy reading nook, this is a lovely and family-friendly oceanfront condo. It will not disappoint! ”

Comment from one of our July 2014 guests about the “Penthouse at Windswept
“We couldn’t have asked for a more inviting place. As soon as we walked in the Penthouse it felt like home. There were fresh flowers, music, beautiful view of the ocean and the cleanliness was excellent. We rented this location last year and this year did not disappoint! We have stayed on a few properties on Kiawah, but we will keep coming back to this villa. This is the place to stay. The pictures of the property were exactly as shown. The master bedroom view is breathtaking and peaceful. We rented bikes for the first time on our vacation and we can’t believe we didn’t do it sooner. We had a wonderful time taking bike rides every morning and then went to the beach. We love this place! 🙂 ”

Comment from one of our July 2014 guests about the “Shell Seeker at Sparrow Pond
“When my sister and I started our search for a Kiawah Island rental, we kept coming back to the “Shell Seeker” and are happy we did. We loved everything about the property, especially the furnishings, linens, and well-equipped kitchen. It felt like we were a guest in their home and not a rental property. They supplied us with everything we needed for the week — shampoo, shower gel, laundry detergent, etc. We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Kiawah Island Getaways. Thanks for a great week.”

Comment from one of our July 2014 guests about the “Sea Shell at Oceanwoods
“Fantastic Vacation!! We just returned from a fabulous stay at this Ocean Woods Cottage. It was clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed. The quality of the furnishings, linens and towels were excellent and the house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was great…just a short walk to the beach. It was so easy working with Kiawah Island Getaways. We also ordered bikes and boogie boards ahead of time and they were waiting for us on the deck as promised. The binder with helpful tips and restaurant information was also a great addition. This was our first visit to Kiawah and we are already looking forward to returning again soon!”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Breeze at Seascape
“Paradise on Earth – From the moment we arrived, we knew that this was going to be a special place. The decor of this beautiful villa is perfect for the upscale island atmosphere of Kiawah. The home features every necessity and many of the amenities that one could ask for while away from home. I spent countless hours sitting on the deck just soaking in the breath taking view of the ocean while not once thinking about work. With the boardwalk only a short walk from the front door, it was a pleasure to walk to the beach whenever the family wanted to play or relax on this pristine beach. I can’t say enough to describe the beauty of Kiawah or to express our gratitude to the owners for the lengths the went to to make us feel welcomed and comfortable while staying at this home away from home which they have prepared.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Sunny Day at Turtle Cove
“The Sunny Day is exactly as advertised. It is in a perfect spot to access all parts of the island. The villa was very clean and well maintained. The owners were very helpful! I know we will miss the Sunny Day.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“My husband and I enjoyed a 3-night stay at The Vista booked through Kiawah Island Getaways. The condo really does have “sweeping ocean views,” and is quite comfortable and romantic for a couple. Would be a great honeymoon spot, not that we were on one … we’re an OLD married couple! GIGANTIC, COMFORTABLE bed and HUGE television sets in the living room and bedroom. If your eyes are open, you’re at the beach! beautiful views from the picture window in the living room, the sliding doors in the bedroom, and from the small deck. Ride the elevator down to the boardwalk to the wide, private beach. Fine dining opportunities abound at Kiawah – we tried Hegge’s and The Atlantic Room this year. Oh yeah, this wasn’t our first trip to Kiawah; we’ve been many times. Even though we own a condominium at Pawleys Island (Another great SC vacation spot!), we can’t stay away from Kiawah.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Breeze at Seascape
“The Breeze is an awesome property! It belongs in Coastal Living or on HGTV!! It’s a real special property And a ” real keeper”. We will look no further and plan many returns.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“We loved our stay at this villa. We are frequent visitors to Kiawah & have rented a diversity of properties. This villa was perfect for us & our contact person from Kiawah Island Getaways could not have been more helpful. The pictures do not do the villa justice. We highly recommend this villa for 2 people & would definitely return.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“We had a wonderful time at Treetops – it was a beautiful property and totally updated. As owners of condos in the past, we appreciated all the amenities, cleanliness and information the owners provided. The beds are excellent as are all the furnishings. There is a limited ocean view but still gave you the sound and wind and view sitting outside.”

Comment from one of our June 2014 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“This villa exceeded our expectations. We are frequent visitors to Kiawah & have rented a diversity of properties. This villa was perfect for us & the pictures do not convey the beauty, quality & good taste of the furnishings. Very clean & comfortable. The ocean views are spectacular. We watched the deer in the gardens each evening. The only thing to be aware of is the absence of a kitchen table. This was not a problem for us. We ate some of our meals at the kitchen counter & some of our meals on the patio using the plastic dishes. Amazing collection of books, the wifi worked perfectly & the TV’s are top quality. Small touches like the beautiful flowers & welcome note made us feel very welcome. Kiawah Island Getaways staff could not have been more helpful. Do not hesitate to rent this cozy, beautiful villa.”

Comment from one of our May 2014 guests about the “Escape at Windswept
“Such a relaxing and awesome location…the condo is very well appointed, modern, clean and right on the beach…didn’t feel the need to go out every night in search of a new restaurant as the grocery store at Freshfields Village provides you with everything you need and the condo is a home away from home. Our three year old loved it…beautiful clean, safe beach that we explored throughout the day and chased crabs at night…he had a blast! If you are looking to escape the head long rush of the corporate day to day, this is the place…Shawn and Jeanette have got it just right…they think of everything, give you a steer in the right direction, should you need it, but leave you be otherwise…perfect.”

Comment from one of our May 2014 guests about the Sea Shell at Oceanwoods
“We loved this home. We have been vacationing a week each summer on Kiawah for 6 years and really enjoyed the Oceanwoods location. This home is located a few houses on Sea Lavender over the road so while you don’t see the beach from there you are a quick walk to the boardwalk. We used a stroller to go to and from because our three children are under the age of 4, but it wasn’t a mandatory. The home layout made me wishful that our home was like this-all one level. Able to see what was going on yet provide privacy in bedrooms. The design met my aesthetic requirements and the property was extremely well maintained and clean. We loved the screen porch with access to to the open porch and outdoor shower. The kitchen was well appointed with like new appliances and cooking utensils. Didn’t find the typical rental property scraped up pots and pans. These were nice at this home so I felt really great cooking while there. The property company provided adequate and nice toiletries and towels. Even 4 beach towels which was a lovely surprise. We have already booked for next year.”

Comment from one of our May 2014 guests about the “Shade at Seascape
“We stayed at The Shade in Kiawah and all I can say is PERFECT!!!! The villa was SO CLEAN and SO ORGANIZED!! It was the first time ever that after a week I was not ready to go home. The bed was so comfy and we slept great! The kitchen had everything we needed. The check in was a breeze….we just drove in & everything was there waiting for a relaxing week. No hassle of standing in line for check in…it was all done in advance. Because I am a “clean freak” the cleaniness of the villa was great. No dirty baseboards or corners. We loved biking and just relaxing on the porch. We definitely will rent again. Shawn & Jeanette….you do it right. Thank you so much for an awesome week. The weather was perfect everyday! I guess I should stop……I can you tell….WE LOVED IT!!!!!”

Comment from one of our April 2014 guests about the “Escape at Windswept
“The Escape villa is by far one of the best villas on Kiawah Island. Everything is so well thought out and the owners really spared no expense in regards to the interior details down to the towels and sheets. You simply can not get any better than this, and the best part is how easy it is to work with the management company on a reservation or equipment rentals!”

Comment from one of our April 2014 guests about the “Shade at Seascape
“The Shade” was perfect for our little vacation. The decor is so tastefully done, and you can tell that every detail had thorough attention. I loved when we walked in for the first time, and the television with music was playing. Also, whatever ‘smell’ is in the condo is so clean. I asked the owners and found out it is Mr. Clean with Febreze in the Vanilla/Lavender Scent. The location was perfect for us. Our goal was to tour the surrounding Charleston area, and we did this everyday using our rental car. We particularly liked returning each night to “The Shade” and relaxing in our own little apartment. We did not want to eat-out for every meal and the accommodations made that very easy and doable. If/when we return to Kiawah we will not hesitate to use Kiawah Island Getaways again for a rental.”

Comment from one of our April 2014 guests about the “Mariah at Windswept
“Home away from home – This was a wonderful condo. It was extremely clean and well stocked with anything you could need. The owners were very easy to deal with. The cost and policies were very clear to understand and reasonable. We would stay there again.”

Comment from one of our April 2014 guests about the “Vista at Shipwatch
“Vista Villa Fan – My husband and I loved the villa! It is beautifully appointed with lovely decor. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The ocean view from both rooms is stunning! I was impressed with the selection of books available. The binder supplied important information about restaurants and sightseeing opportunities. This was an easy choice! Shawn also called me, prior to choosing the villa, to go over all of my concerns. Hearing him talk made me confident about selecting Shipwatch Villa. I am so glad we chose this one (4th floor) over an available unit on the 1st floor.”

Comment from one of our April 2014 guests about the “Treetops at Shipwatch
“Just like home – maybe better. This, our second stay with Kiawah Island Getaways, we were joined by our daughter and son-in-law. The Treetops Villa welcomed us in a perfect state of readiness. We were greeted by music, a streaming photo montage of the island and a personalized note, a wonderful first impression. The Treetops space was impeccable (we are super fussy!!), comfortable and roomy with a thoughtful floor plan for privacy. The unit was stylish, contemporary and cozy in decor. This, a corner unit with three separate balconies allowed for an outdoors-in feeling and a nice cross breeze. Whether you choose to prepare a meal or not, the galley kitchen stood ready and stocked. The baths were bright, pretty and updated, in perfect working order with plenty of very nice towels. We loved having a washer/dryer right in the unit, it’s a must when staying on the beach! You will find all your beach needs, from towels to a cooler, basket and more tucked away in a closet, along with a fun collection of books, games and dvds. We liked the modern touches of technology, wifi, sound bar, entertainment systems in all rooms and state of the art (easy to use) Nest thermostat We noticed and appreciated the smartly placed lighting throughout the villa. The Lawson’s three ring information binder with menu, directions and such was a helpful and nice touch. We will definitely return to beautiful Kiawah and rent this or another unit from Kiawah Island Getaways again! Rent with complete confidence from Kiawah Island Getaways.”
