- When comparing Kiawah Island Getaways to the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, it really comes down to what you value most during your stay. The Golf Resort is perfect for golf lovers—they offer fantastic golf courses along with golf discounts and have a splash pool that’s a big hit with kids. So, if you’ve got kids or you are planning to play many rounds of golf, the Golf Resort is a great choice. Kiawah Island Getaways is all about providing a top-notch, comfortable stay, focused on cleanliness and comfort. That’s our niche, and that’s what we do best. Please note you may also play golf (no discounts) and the property you rent may come with a community pool (not access to the Night Heron Splash Pool). Pet Policy: Can I bring pets to the properties?
- None of our properties is pet-friendly. However, there are several accommodations that accept pets on Kiawah. Visit vrbo.com and filter for pet-friendly properties. Be sure to read the reviews. Once you determine which accommodations suit you the best, book directly through the property management company and avoid paying the vrbo $$ finder’s fee.
Linens, Bedding and Towels: What type of bedding do you provide?
- All properties offer plenty of down-filled pillows (as well as down-alternative pillows in the closets), duvets, heavenly bed linens, and super comfy mattresses. Read our blog to see exactly why our beds are so special!
- All properties provide plenty of plush bath towels and beach towels.
Kitchen Supplies: What kitchen supplies are included?
- Each property is furnished with a full-sized refrigerator, ice maker, dishwasher, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, blender, microwave, range, washer/dryer, pots & pans and all cooking and eating utensils. You’ll find plenty of spices, dishwashing soap, Saran wrap, aluminum foil, Ziplock bags and paper towels.
Coffee Equipment: What coffee equipment is included?
- Each property offers a coffee pot, french press, Keurig and coffee grinder. The coffee maker has reusable filters and we provide K-cups at the start of your stay.
Grill Availability: Are grills available at the properties?
- Per the Town of Kiawah, grilling is not permitted on decks of any villas (condos), nor in any of the parking areas. However, grills are allowed on the decks of cottages and houses. If you are renting a house or cottage – please check the listing to see if it includes a grill.
- Charcoal grills are provided at the Night Heron Park (exact location here).
Check-In Process: How does the check-in process work?
- Check-in is easy. We will email you the address and directions to the property. Simply print and bring these directions with you when you come or use your GPS. Check-in is any time after 4 PM (unless you have arranged and paid for an early check-in). We will also email your vehicle pass that you may print it at home prior to your arrival. Having the pass printed and set on your dash will save you a long wait at Kiawah’s front gate (get in the quicker right lane) when you arrive. The front gate is open 24/7. Once through the gate, drive directly to the property. All properties are equipped with an electronic doorknob or dead bolt that opens with your unique 4-digit code (which we also will email/text to you). With no keys or key cards to worry about, access to the property is easy for adults and kids alike!
Beach Supplies: What beach supplies are provided?
- Beach towels, a cooler and plastic drinkware, as no glass is allowed on the beach, are provided with every stay.
Available Amenities
Available Amenities: What amenities do guests have access to?
- Access to all island amenities is available, excluding the Night Heron Splash pool and fitness center. Enjoy restaurants, shops, golf, tennis, Kamp Kiawah, bike paths, and the beach. Additionally, you can book spa services at The Sanctuary Hotel. Kiawah features a top-tier tennis center in East Beach and five championship golf courses: the Ocean Course, Turtle Point, Osprey Point, Cougar Point, and Oak Point.
Pool Access: Is pool access included with my rental?
- A few neighborhoods on Kiawah have a community pool. Cottages in Sparrow Pond have access to a neighborhood community pool. The Night Heron Splash Pool is not available to our guests.
Water Park Information: Is there a nearby water park for children?
- Yes. Located just 30 minutes from Kiawah at James Island County Park is Splash Zone. It is fabulous fun…with lazy rivers, 200′ tube slides, sprays and all sorts of water fun for kids and adults of all ages.
Fitness Center Access: Is there a nearby gym I can use?
- Yes – there is an Anytime Fitness located about 15 minutes from the island. It’s a chain fitness center offering 24/7 access, personal training, and a wide range of equipment. Gym passes may be purchased.

Gear Rentals & Services
Beach Equipment Rental: How can I rent beach umbrellas, chairs, and boogie boards?
- Yes – there are full service beach chairs and beach umbrellas set up for you each day by the Beach Service that are available for rent 10 AM through 4 PM (see instructions here). As an alternative, you may rent portable beach chairs directly through us when you make your reservation. Unlike the full-service beach chairs, the portable beach chairs are great for use anytime of the day (or evening). You may also choose to rent a full-service umbrella and complement it with portable beach chairs.
Grocery Stores and Delivery Options: Can groceries be delivered to my villa?
- You can pick up groceries at Harris Teeter at Freshfields (here) or pre-arrange to have groceries delivered to your property from GroceriesAhead.com – (843) 216-7630.

Bike Rental: Where can I rent bikes?
- Kiawah is a terrific place to bike. There are over 30 miles of flat, paved, easy to ride bike trails that wind all over the island. Biking is interwoven with the Island’s culture, and we highly recommend renting bikes to anyone visiting. You may reserve bikes here: BikeKiawah.com

- We rent portable beach chairs and boogie boards which make it easy and fun for the whole family to enjoy the beach and ride the waves!
Professional Photography: Can I arrange professional beach photography?
- For classic family beach photos we recommend Michael Cyra with Photographics, (843) 768-3030. Be sure to plan this event in advance – Michael books up quickly in the summer!
Babysitting Services: Are babysitting services available?
- We have located Kiawah’s BEST babysitter! She LOVES kids and enjoys showing them all of the fun areas around Kiawah. She can even entertain children with trips to the Aquarium and to the Children’s Museum in Charleston. She also likes to spend time in the property with the children playing with the many games and toys that are provided there. Information on the babysitter will be emailed to you along with your check-in information. Let us know if you need any baby equipment. We rent portable cribs, Pack-and-Plays, high chairs and toddler beds. Just let us know what you need and we’ll have it set up and waiting for you when you arrive.
